About the restaurant Sesame
Stress free oasis located just outside the Old town. While creating our menu we wanted to offer traditional gastro experience which will allow your taste buds to explore our history and soak in tastes of Dubrovnik.
Dubrovnik is built on stone in land where where people learnt to cherish even the tiniest drops of aromas.
Never too much and never too little.
Our menus are formed as a journey through history on which this stone city was built – somewhere on the thin line between heaven and earth, between sea and land. Let us take you for a gastronomical treat in which you will taste the land and the sea, we will take you to heaven and bring you back to earth.

This treasure now awaits for you in the newly refurbished Restaurant Sesame, Dubrovnik’s most beautiful secret gem. Come and see what fantastic charm this place holds, ready to seduce you with its unique setting.
History
Restaurant Sesame follows the family tradition from 1880 and is located in a quaint green oasis just a couple of minutes away from the Old town, in the street leading towards Gradac park and Danče beach, favourite local spots. The street is named after the great Italian poet Dante Alighieri, and if you look closely, you will see his bust near the entrance to Sesame. The restaurant is a part of a two-hundred year old stone house, surrounded by lush greenery of orange and pittosporum trees.
Every little detail inside Sesame tells the story of Dubrovnik, its rich history is simply a part of Sesame’s own identity. A careful observer will undoubtedly notice old black and white photos of Dubrovnik, with its old tram from the 20th century. There are other curiosities, like the little owl figurines, symbols of wisdom, scattered throughout the restaurant.
